Argentina has become recently a rather popular destination; but like most vacation sites, the traveler must be prepared for cultural differences. Follow the tips below to ensure an enjoyable trip to and within Argentina.

1) Book well in advance; flying is the best way for getting there. Flights to Argentina is in high demand at certain times of the year.

2) Consider taking a nonstop overnight flight from JFK (New York City) to Buenos Aires; it takes about 10 hours and half.

3) Bear in mind that the common way of greeting in Argentina between friends is kissing one anothers cheeks; do not be surprised if someone tries to kiss your cheek.

4) Take thick and waterproof clothing just in case of cold weather and snow.

5) This country loves meat; so be ready when eating any where.

6) Always be on the alert in Buenos Aires for potential crimes like pickpockets.

7) The chief methods of transportation is the underground shuttle, by bus, or taxi. Buses are the fastest method from one place to another.

8) Keep in mind that more than 90 percent of Argentina's religious faith depends on the Roman Catholic Church; why should you care?  This does have an effect on what is kosher and what isn't.

9) Sometimes flying within Argentia can be quicker and cheaper than a bus or taxi ride. So consider taking a flight for those longer travels.

10) If you have any question on Argentina tourism, you can get answers from the Argentina Tourist Informatioin Center by calling 4312-2232 or 0800-555-0016.

11) The country's official currency is the peso. It may be a good idea to exchange American dollars into pesos in order to make buying and paying easier.

12) Tipping are partly outlawed in Argentina; but most people still expect a tip; the best practice: give only 10% of the bill.

13) Argentina time zone is Argentina Standard Time; this is 3 hours, and 4 hours in summer. So do not forget to set your watches when you arrive.
