Egypt is one of the most popular tourist sites in the world. There is so much history, rich culture, and amazing sites to see.  If you really want to enjoy your travel to and within Egypt, read the following tips:

1) If you need to do some banking, visit the banks in Egypt as early as possible; the close by 2:00 pm Sunday through Thursday.

2) Do not exchange your money until you're in Egypt; the conversion rate is a lot better there.

3) You can use bus services that cover all of Egypt; for more information call (002)-(02)266 0212.

4) Bring a converter so your appliances can work. The electricity current is 220 volts, 50 Hz.

5) It's highly recommended to confirm your flight within 48 hours prior to departure if you are flying with EgyptAir or have connection flights.

6) Buy duty free items within 48 hours after arriving.

7) If you are taking your pet with you, carry a current veterinary health certificate that includes a rabies certificate.

8) In order to call outside Egypt, dial your country code, next the city code, and then the number; if you have friends or family calling from North America, do tell them to dial 011 before dialing the country code.

9) If you want to save money when calling, call after 8:00 PM. If you want to make international calls, purchase a Mena-Tel card.

10) Do not hire a taxi to tour Egypt. Taxi drivers charge a lot. But if you have to use a taxi, it's recommended to ask the hotel's reception to get you one.

11) Find out where the best restaurants are located if you are planning to dine out.

12) If you are traveling for your first time to Egypt, independent travel is not recommended; go as part of a group which can be arranged when you arrive.

13) Be prepared for a culture shock when you explore Egypt.

14) Be conservative in your behavior when visiting Egypt; Egypt is a Muslim country where kissing and wearing revealing clothes are frowned upon.

15) Be sure to stop by Khan el-Khalili: it's one of the biggest markets in the world; here is where you can observe people, buy souvenirs, and practice your haggling skills.
