Germany is a fairly popular vacation site; there's much to see in Germany; in order to get on the right foot when traveling in Germany, read the tips below:

1) It's a good idea to check in advance if you need a visa to enter Germany.

2) Double-check if your passport is up-to-date.

3) No specific vaccinations are required in order to visit Germany; it's a good idea to bring a basic first-aid kit.

4) In order not to be embarassed do some quick research about Germany's etiquette of dos and don'ts.

5) If you must use an adapter, the electricity is 220v, 50Hz.

6) Packing wisely, for Germany's weather is not always reliable; for example, bring a rain jacket, a warm jacket, etc.

7) Buy euros when you go to Germany so you'll have an easier time paying for things like lunch and dinner.

8) When entering a restaurant, walk right in and choose any available table of your preference.

9) When tipping, the tip could be a lot smaller than you would give in US. For example, a tip of two or three euros is a good tip for excellent service.

10) When shopping for groceries at a supermaket, you have to buy your own plastic bags.

11) Expect to see everything closed on Sundays except for a few restaurants, gas stations, bars, and shops at the central train station.

12) Know now that public phones are quite rare. They only take telephone cards. So it might be a good move to buy a telephone card a shops such as "Post," T-Punkt", or "Vodafone."
