Traveling to the philippines can make a great vacation experience for the entire family. I have listed top tips to ensure that you have a wonderful visit.
1) To reduce your waiting time and burden, pack as light as possible. Ideally try to cary one 9" X 22" X 14" bag with a total weight of 20 pounds. Why? You won't have to check in your bag at the airport. When you arrive at your destination, you may go straight to customs without having to wait at the carousel to pick up luggage.
2) Take light clothing, and especially if you're going during summer. The best clothes to wear are t-shirts, comfortable pants, shorts, and sneakers. For women, bring a hat with brim to provide a shade against the sun's heat. It's recommended to also bring a pair of sunglasses with UV protection.
3) If you are bringing electronic gadgets, do not forget to also bring a converter. The Philippines employs 220V of electricity. The majority of top hotels provide 100V outlets; but these are usually not available in the ural areas.
4) Do not bring with you valuables; take only what you will really need like a cheap watch. If you decide to take expensive jewellery, it's highly recommended to deposit them and other prized possessions in the hotel safe.
5) Ensure that you make copies of your flight tickets and passport and keep these copies in a separate place.
6) It's recommended to use a belt bag to conceal your money, passport, and other such items while on the road; put the belt bag in front of your body and under your shirt.
7) Avoid abandoning your bag and other possessions of value at the poolside or on the beach while you are taking a swim.
8) It's expected to leave a tip of 10% of the toll bill when you are provided a service. But if there is a service charged alaready included on the bill, you do not have to feel obligated to tip.
9) It's recommended to do your shopping in the Philippines than before your trip. Why? Designer clothes are cheaper to buy in the Philippines than in the countries where they were originally made in.
10) You can save a ton of money by getting your dental, cosmetic, and medical needs provided in the Philippines.
11) The best time to experience the Philippines is from November to February; the weather is cooler.
12) Most Filipinos are by in large conservative. In order not to offend in a foreign country, behave, talk, and dress modestly. You can usually wear shorts, t-shirts, sandals and sneakers in most areas.
13) If possible, do not speak about politics and religion to anyone you meet; this is especially recommended while drinking.
14) Dress conservatively if you decide to visit Mindanao where Muslims are the majority in certain areas.
